This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, friendly and fast-paced Association to work in the Membership team. You will be responsible for maintaining, updating and analysing the organisation’s cross-department key client account strategy, the membership database, supporting member retention and development, and supporting other membership and commercial development activities.
The role will involve:
- Co-ordinating the new business member sales process (origination/identifying/qualifying) and supporting the membership team in organising and using the new membership pipeline to set up meetings.
- Developing your understanding of the BVCA’s value proposition and effectively communicating this to members and prospective members.
- Providing support to the team and general assistance where required, particularly with organising internal and external meetings, collating and submitting expenses, and assisting current members who have queries about their membership or the BVCA.
- Co-ordinating the firms GP Annual Investor Calendar on behalf of the firms GP membership.
- Supporting the membership team to co-ordinate the new member onboarding processes.
- Supporting the membership team on the organisation’s annual renewal process, including resignations.
- Supporting the membership team on the firm’s key account management programme, ranging from researching members to drafting briefs.
- Supporting the Senior Membership Executive on the firm’s strategic collection, entry & management of member data/intelligence on the firms CRM database.
- Promoting the use of CRM across other departments.
- Supporting the Senior Membership Executive to analyse and identify data for relevant marketing activities, surveys, and campaigns.
- Providing input into the weekly membership meetings.
- Assisting current members who have queries about their membership or the BVCA.
Requirements
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency in the use of CRM systems (knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage).
- Collaborative and team-driven approach.
- Self-starter.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Basic knowledge of private equity and venture capital is an advantage but not a requirement. Experience of working with firms within the private capital industry, or with other large financial or professional services firms would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to present ideas and concepts to a broad set of audiences.
