Our client is currently recruiting for a locum Senior Governance Lawyer on an initial 3-month contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £55 – £70 p/hour , via an umbrella company , dependent on PQE.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within local government, and have strong experience drafting constitutions and dealing with complex structures.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a varied caseload of 25+ cases of governance matters
- Advising on the constitution and local government law & practice
- Advising officers on officer key decision records, committee, cabinet and council reports
- Ensuring all actions within the organisation are in line with the governance code and constitution
Experience required:
- Experience required in Local Government
- Experience drafting constitutions and dealing with complex structures
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week, potential for part-time hours
- Monday – Friday
