The Role
Kick-start your career in high-voltage engineering with a comprehensive 2-year programme designed to nurture the next generation of commissioning engineers as they follow an extensive training, development and monitoring programme delivered by the DAGEM Power Academy.
Our 2025 cohort will complete the DAGEM Power Academy’s market-leading structured technical programme ‘Electrical Engineering for Power Engineers’, designed to supplement the ‘hands on’ practical experience gained on site delivering substation projects with classroom training, tutorials and workshop exercises, ensuring that the Graduate Engineers are equipped with the necessary practical and technical foundation required to meet the demands of the industry. Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Assisting the Commissioning team with all aspects of HV substation commissioning
- Assisting the Protection Services team will factory and site acceptance testing and protection maintenance (Onshore & Offshore)
- Participating in various safety and technical training courses
- Represent the company in a professional manner
Candidate Requirements
- Right to work and live in the UK
- BEng in Electrical Engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work away from home (Mon-Fri)
- Full UK Driving License
- Strong Microsoft Office skills

Progression & Development
Upon completion of the DAGEM Power Academy programme, graduates will be placed into either the Commissioning Team, where they will work towards attaining National Grid BP141 Authorisation or may choose a Specialist route with the Protection Services team, where they will hone their skills completing a wide variety of Protection work including supporting the Offshore Wind sector.
Remuneration
Base salary of £36k, paid overtime, company vehicle, private health insurance, employee assistance programme and target related bonus scheme.
