Our client, a leading UK logistics company, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to coordinate transport operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and top-tier customer service. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules, ensuring optimal vehicle routing to meet customer demands. * Allocate drivers to scheduled routes, providing clear instructions and making real-time adjustments when necessary. * Maximize vehicle efficiency by strategically planning loads and minimizing empty runs. * Act as the main point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication throughout the transport process. * Monitor live trips, proactively addressing delays or operational issues to minimize disruptions. * Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company safety policies. * Maintain accurate records of transport activities using the Transport Management System (TMS) and produce reports as required. * Liaise with clients, providing delivery updates and resolving queries to maintain high customer satisfaction. * Work collaboratively with the Traffic and Operations teams to improve efficiency and service delivery. What We’re Looking For: ✅ Proven experience as a Transport Planner, Traffic Operator, or similar role within the logistics and transport industry. ✅ Strong knowledge of UK road networks and container transport logistics. ✅ Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). ✅ Excellent time management and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. ✅ Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to think quickly and find practical solutions. ✅ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with drivers, customers, and internal teams. ✅ Team player with a proactive approach and a focus on achieving operational goals. ✅ Flexibility to work varying hours as needed to meet business demands.
