About the Multiskilled Engineer job
As a Multiskilled Engineer, you will support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring smooth production operations. Your role includes maintaining machinery, services, and supplies through planned preventative maintenance to maximise efficiency and safety. You will prioritise tasks to minimise production disruption, provide breakdown cover, and manage contractor requirements.
Key tasks
- Develop and contribute to preventative maintenance strategies, including in-running checks and key performance indicators to ensure reliability.
- Install, maintain, and repair electromechanical systems, including control instrumentation such as probes, flow, pressure, and temperature sensors.
- Perform fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance, and complete preventative/predictive maintenance work as per schedules.
- Analyse ongoing issues, recommend improvements, and update maintenance schedules based on inspection histories and operational experience.
About You
- We are seeking an experienced Engineer with a background of working in the food & beverages industry.
- You will have sound mechanical and electrical skills with knowledge of fault finding and a recognised electrical qualification i.e. 18th Edition.
- To succeed in this role you will have high attention to detail, good problem solving skills, adaptable and have a proactive approach.
- Experience with refrigeration would be beneficial.

The Multiskilled Engineer job (ref:8850) is based in Plymouth and is paying up to £38,000 according to your experience.
This role is commutable from Tavistock, Saltash, Totnes, Salcombe and South Cornwall and surrounding towns.
The working hours are Monday to Friday with flexible hours to suit and there is a rota for evenings and Sundays since this is a 24/7 operation.
