Isle of Wight Jobs are recruiting for an Electronics Engineer at a global and industry leading organisation here on the Isle of Wight.

Main duties include:

  • Design and development of digital/analogue circuits for data acquisition and instrumentation for precision torque measurement system.
  • Embedded electronics design interfacing with small single-board computer.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software engineers to create integrated solutions.
  • Conduct full product lifecycle including prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs in line with customer requirements and engineering specification.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing products and systems.
  • To undertake engineering design and development tasks to the appropriate directives, standards to comply with CE regulation. Work with suppliers and production teams to source and evaluate components for product development and manufacturing.
  • Produced various test procedures/kits for electronics PCBs.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven experience in electronics design and development, ideally in precision measurement or instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in PCB design and layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle).
  • Strong understanding of analogue and digital circuit design.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller-based systems and programming (e.g., ARM Cortex, C/C++).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet, WiFi and ESP-Now.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Experience with EMC, environmental testing, and demonstrable design skills to comply with appropriate Safety and EMC directives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in signal processing and sensor integration.
  • Experience in SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of power electronics and control systems.
  • Familiarity with the maritime or industrial sectors is a plus.
  • Understanding of calibration processes and metrology.
  • Experience in wireless power transfer design.
