Men's Multiproduct Designer

A new role has arisen for my client for a menswear multi-product designer to work with their existing design team to build collections for existing brands. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial trend-driven handwriting and demonstrate the ability to work to a brand identity.

My client is a large, successful supplier to several large retailers.

In this role, you must have a great eye for trends, excellent CAD skills, and experience presenting stories, concepts, inspirations, and designs to Buyers.

This role has an emphasis on jerseywear, with one day of work from home.

Main duties will include:

• Create and develop menswear product designs tailored to the company’s handwriting.
• Create on-trend, forward-thinking yet commercial womenswear designs in response to briefs.
• Research lifestyle trends and blogs, being aware of relevant influencers.
• Implement direction and innovation for the season across fabric and trim.
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external teams.
• Work closely with the in-house sales and production team along with retail Buyers.
• Oversee the development of all sampling ensuring deadlines are met.
• Work closely with the rest of the design team.

Person specification:

• Multi-product menswear experience is essential within a commercial environment, with an emphasis on jersey.
• Previous relevant supplier or retailer experience.
• A strong understanding of current trends and the ability to anticipate new trends.
• Good CAD and illustration skills.
• Experience and confidence in presenting ideas, trends, and design work.
• A hands-on, can-do attitude; someone who is hardworking, innovative, positive, and a good team player.
