As Supply Chain Manager you’ll be accountable for the people, performance, operations and compliance at our amazing Newark Home Delivery Centre.

You’ll directly control the operational performance of your Home Delivery Centre operating within agreed budgets. You’ll empower and coach your direct reports (Operations Managers) who will oversee First Line Managers and teams consisting of drivers, gas, specialist, warehouse and support colleagues. You’ll also manage the relationships with delivery and agency partners and together you’ll make sure your varied teams are always striving to get it Right First Time and deliver the best service for our customers.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the running of the site ensuring operational activity achieved to target; monitoring and reporting on practical issues and solutions
  • Acting as a role model and leader to the site team of leaders, delivery and installation, stock and customer administration colleagues
  • Implementing and positively contributing to change programmes including Levelling Up initiatives
  • Working closely with our onsite delivery partners
  • Overseeing, training and mentoring delivery partners and agency teams on site
  • Acting as a coach for Operations Manager and First Line Managers and celebrating the success of all colleagues on the site
  • Ensuring compliance to statutory Health and Safety requirements

You will need:

  • Leadership experience in a fast-moving distribution or customer focused delivery operation
  • Demonstrable role model, coaching and mentoring skills experience
  • Budgetary and cost management experience
  • To be an excellent communicator, negotiator, and influencer at all levels

It would be great if you had:

  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Health and Safety qualification e.g. IOSH
