SENIOR CIRCULAR DESIGNER
Job type: The right person is key. We are open to both part-time and full-time applicants.
Location: This is a hybrid role. You will be able to work from home but must be able to travel to our office in Plymouth one day a week. The role will also require travel for workshop presentations.
Who are we?
The Circular Textiles Foundation is a Not for Profit working towards our vision that no clothing or textiles ends up in landfill or incineration. We create the link between clothing brands and textile recyclers. We guide brands through training and workshops to ensure that their clothing and textiles are designed to remain in use for the longest possible time and designed with an end of life solution so that they can be recycled at end of life via a fibre to fibre textile recycler.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our growing team as a Senior Circular Designer to support our team in workshops, training and certifying clothing for recyclability.
What will you be doing?
A key role within the team, you will be working closely with the Head of Circular Design as part of the design team. You will be responsible for working with garments for certification and delivering online and in-person workshops.
We work with brands of all sizes, so knowledge of fabrics, garment design, garment construction, production teams, critical paths, and so forth, is key in understanding the brand functions we work with.

We are a small, enthusiastic team making a real impact; we work with many brands ranging from large high street retailers to small, niche organisations. This is a unique opportunity to learn about Circular Design Principles and to share your knowledge through our training and workshops.
We are looking for a self-motivated, driven, open-minded individual to join our team at this exciting time of growth.
- 2+ years experience as a Fashion Designer or Garment Tech
- Strong visual design capabilities across multiple mediums
- Computer literate with knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and Adobe Illustrator
- Vision for product and knowledge of the sector and understanding of the full design/manufacturing process from concept to delivery
- Ability & readiness to travel as required
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, displaying strong organisational and time management skills, working to strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and workshops
