Field Service Engineer – Steam Turbines
This is a remote-job that can be done from anywhere in the UK (The closer to an airport the easier)
Provectus Recruitment are currently partnered with a leading manufacturing organisation in the UK, that design & manufacture large-scale rotating machinery, used for power generation.
This is a business that has manufactured rotating power-gen equipment for many years. They are currently going through a period of cultural change & modernisation, as well as driving technical innovation within the power-gen sector. A business that has a very established brand & some of the most reliable and efficient power-generation equipment there is to offer.
Main Responsibility
Due to ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer to focus on all engineering activity associated with Steam-turbines and other associated equipment.
The role encompasses traditional Field Service site based technical assistance to customer during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of assigned products.
The Role
- Develop and manage good customer relationships, via world-class customer management/service
- Work closely with a team of service engineers, being a team player, strong leader and sharing technical knowledge and experience.
- Service, overhaul, repair, installation, maintenance, and commission of assigned machinery
- Project Management or work packages and set service schedules
- Identify sales, service or spares opportunities to drive business growth.
- Support customer training activities associated with maintenance of rotating equipment
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the operation and maintenance of Steam-turbines and/or other associated rotating equipment, as well as an excellent work ethic, good communication and customer service led skill.
- Mechanical Engineering academics or substantial experience level/Time-serviced to a recognises standard
- Time-spent in the rotating equipment sector, particularly with Steam Turbines
- Experienced with Steam Turbine fault-finding, repair, overhaul, maintenance, commission
- Competent with reviewing and writing of technical documentation associated with service engineering
- Ability to supervise others at site during complex installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Very good appreciation and understanding of business and commercial issues in relation to the role.
- An eye for detail and working diligently to ensure activities are fully completed to conclusion.
