Lead Mechanical Commissioning Manager – London – to GBP95k plus benefits
One of the UK\’s leading Building Services Commissioning Management consultancies is urgently looking to hire an experienced Lead Mechanical Commissioning Manager for an exciting project in London. You must have a solid track record in Commissioning Management and be able to run a project from cradle to grave. We need someone who is client-facing, can set up the project, write the programme and do the commissionability review.
Job Purpose Summary
The role of our commissioning engineers is to ensure that building services systems are put to work properly and in accordance with relevant requirements. This can be achieved through:
- Managing the commissioning process
- Validating that the commissioning process aligns with requirements
- Inspecting existing systems to determine performance
- Providing consultative advice on commissioning and performance requirements, strategies, programmes, and scopes of work
- Carrying out measurements, surveys, and technical inspections
Additionally, at all times:
- Engaging with other members of the Company to improve existing systems and procedures
- Acting as a Champion in a specific technical area
- Promoting the company and the wider group through marketing activities
Key Attributes
- A capable, technically competent engineer with drive, enthusiasm, and high attention to detail
- Recognised engineering qualifications, ideally a Bachelor of Engineering
- Detailed technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or building control systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Project

Key Responsibilities
- Act safely in compliance with the Company’s health and safety policy and procedures
- Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally
- Ensure technical compliance and high-quality production of deliverables
- Fully adopt the Company’s project management systems
- Maintain awareness of project finances and control expenditure
- Attend meetings as required
- Prepare technical reports
- Develop project-specific commissioning management/validation documents and procedures
- Comment on drawings, manuals, and technical submittals
- Develop project-specific method statements, test scripts, etc.
- Report internally on project scope changes
- Work with a professional team to evaluate progress, difficulties, and costs
- Undertake hands-on commissioning work as necessary
General Duties
- Arrange test instrumentation required for testing
- Assist in developing tender submissions
- Complete timesheets accurately on a weekly basis
- Support other staff proactively in their work
