Job Description

Marine Offshore Management (MOM) is seeking a motivated and talented Naval Architect Graduate to join our team in Stevenston. The successful candidate will specialise in SPS (Sandwich Plate System) technology and contribute to maritime and offshore projects worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge repair solutions and advanced structural analysis tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Naval Architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD or Rhino).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.

Job Duties

Future Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

  • An appetite to learn FEA on ship structures and offshore installations to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Once trained, analyse and interpret FEA results to provide actionable recommendations.

Project Support

  • Assist with the planning, execution, and supervision of SPS repair projects globally.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, calculations, and project proposals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with clients, shipyards, and classification societies to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical support during client meetings and site visits.

Travel and Site Work

  • Support international projects with occasional travel to client locations, shipyards, or offshore facilities.
