An exciting interim opportunity leading to a permanent position has arisen for a Housing Policy Officer to join our Housing Service. You will support management in implementing housing delivery programme objectives, including developing asset investment planning policies and procedures.

Housing Policy Officer (Interim)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of housing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Social Housing Regulator Consumer Standards, housing law, and regulations.
  • Engage with subject matter experts, housing teams, and residents to develop tenant-facing policies.
  • Report regularly to senior management on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Conduct research and critically evaluate information to inform policy development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant law, housing regulation, and public policy.
  • Experience in the social housing sector or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of current policy issues affecting local authorities and social housing.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures is desirable.
