Are you an experienced accounts receivable professional with a sharp eye for detail and a solid grasp of revenue recognition? We’re hiring on behalf of a well-established business looking for a Senior Assistant Accountant to support their finance team. Based in a brand-new head office in North London, this hybrid role offers the chance to work across a dynamic, fast-paced organisation, supporting key client accounts and month-end reporting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit monthly income returns for major clients
  • Raise sales invoices and allocate cash receipts accurately
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies and support income reconciliations
  • Post journals with correct nominal and VAT codes
  • Reconcile bank accounts weekly
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Liaise with Sales and Account Managers to analyse unbilled labour and expenses
  • Support wider finance team and Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks

Essential skills and experience:

  • AAT-qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • 5+ years in a finance role within a medium-sized business
  • Strong experience in accounts receivable and revenue recognition
  • Solid Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and deadline-driven

Desired:

  • Experience preparing statutory and management accounts
  • Familiar with SAGE 50/200/Intacct
  • Experience working with large data sets
