About the role

We’re growing our team of Product Owners to help our customers do extraordinary things with software and data. If you’re looking for a role where your product ownership expertise will be used in meaningful and impactful ways, then Ascent is the place for you. You’ll be part of an experienced team of highly skilled product owners, and work with some of the most talented software and data professionals around to do amazing things, whether it’s helping to make medical research easier and scalable, creating technology that helps protect biodiversity, or make homes smarter.

What you’ll do

Product Owners at Ascent work at the heart of creating extraordinary products for our customers. Product Owners here at Ascent are full-stack and look after all aspects of product management together with our customers. You’ll be accountable for things like:

  • Defining the vision of the product
  • Driving the product strategy
  • Creating roadmaps and prioritizing the most valuable items
  • Managing the development backlog
  • Working closely with the development team on a daily basis

You’ll define, analyze, and react to product metrics (such as Analytics, A/B testing, and Pirate metrics) to provide valuable client guidance if things need to change and work in partnership with your internal project team to keep closely aligned and in sync. We believe in MVP-first and fail-fast approaches to prove a hypothesis using experimentation with feedback for confirmation and solution validation, and we’re comfortable with emergent design rather than design upfront.

We work with a diverse range of customers across a multitude of different sectors, and you could be working on a large-scale, complex digital transformation project over a long term, or on some smaller scope engagements.

The skills and expertise you’ll bring

We want to find experienced and knowledgeable product owners, from all kinds of domains and industries to build broad capability for our growing team. You’ll need to have:

  • Strong role experience as a product owner, working with agile software development or delivery teams
  • Experience of working with Digital Teams in pharmaceutical organisations (nice to have)
  • Understanding of Clinical operations process and Clinical feasibility process, with ability to drive all feasibility and site identification activities related discussions with business users (nice to have)
  • Drive experience design activities to improve user interfaces and task flows through wireframing, prototyping and ideation workshops.
  • Work with UX designers, data engineers, data scientists, biostatisticians and technical architects to map dependencies, refine the requirements and render them ready for implementation
  • A well-rounded skill set in applying Product Owner fundamentals – using various prioritization techniques, able to write down User stories and define acceptance criteria of them, helping to build roadmaps
  • Expertise in managing end-user UX/UI-oriented products
  • You’ll need strong stakeholder management skills and be able to communicate clearly and precisely to people who may not be technical.
  • Be highly self-motivated, forward-thinking and like to explore new ways of applying existing and new technologies to solve Business problems
