Job Purpose
The House Project Manager will lead and deliver a comprehensive programme of assessment, review, and support for young people leaving care. You will supervise facilitators to provide individual and group sessions tailored to meet the diverse needs of young people. The project aims to prepare and support young people leaving care to transition into their first home equipped with necessary skills, and to provide ongoing support post-move to help them sustain their home, engage in education, employment, and training, and enjoy community life. You will oversee the project daily, managing two facilitators, and work relationally with the young people to support their development.
The project collaborates with cared for and leaving care teams, as well as housing partners and other services that support care-experienced young people.
A key focus is working with young people to shape the approach and delivery of the programme, aiming for them to successfully move into and sustain their own homes while improving their wellbeing and economic circumstances.
About You
- Social Work Qualification, Youth Work Qualification, or PGCE (Teaching Qualification)
- Knowledge of national policies and developments related to children’s social care and relevant policy areas
- Understanding of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, standards, and procedures
- Extensive experience working with young people in need within social work, youth work, or teaching environments
- Experience in project development and leadership in similar roles
- Proven ability to liaise and build partnerships to promote positive outcomes for young people
- Strong communication skills focused on developing positive relationships with young people, staff, and community partners
- Ability to engage effectively with young adults to achieve sustainable positive outcomes
- Experience working with professionals and organizations for the benefit of young adults in the project
- Holistic assessment skills to identify young adults\’ support and protection needs
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches in working with young people
