An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Haileybury as Clerk to Governors.

The Role

The role of Clerk to Governors is an important one. The Clerk is directly responsible to the Chair of Governors and works with them and all other members of the School’s governing body, who are also the School’s trustees, to ensure the effective and efficient governance of the School.

It is essential that the post-holder be suitably qualified; legal professional, Company Secretary, or Corporate Secretariat professional qualification, or commensurate legal or corporate governance experience.

Haileybury is an outstanding independent co-educational boarding and day school of around 900 pupils aged 11 to 18. Established in 1862, the School is situated on a beautiful 500-acre estate in Hertfordshire.

Haileybury has an outstanding reputation in the UK and internationally and was judged “excellent in all areas” by ISI in October 2022. We are thrilled that Haileybury has been awarded the prestigious title of Boarding School of the Year 2024 by Tes.
