Cloud Solutions Consultant – Public Sector

Location: London (Hybrid working model)

This role supports the Public Sector Sales Team by designing and developing customer-facing solutions, focusing on Wide Area Networks and Network Connectivity. The consultant will work on complex projects, managed services, network solutions, and basic voice/cloud implementations. Strong knowledge of Telecoms/Solution designs and experience with the Public Sector (including Central Government, Local Government, Regulatory Authorities, Health and Social Care, Education, and Higher Education) are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Public Sector Sales Team throughout the sales cycle.
• Qualify opportunities technically and commercially.
• Attend customer meetings and present to mid-level and C-level stakeholders.
• Define solutions and create design artifacts (network diagrams, solution descriptions, bills of materials).
• Participate in customer conference calls.
• Develop innovative and competitive solutions, leading virtual teams as needed.
• Support the sales team with commercial aspects (bills of materials, dependencies, risks).
• Develop solutions for opportunities with incomplete information.
• Work with the bid team to respond to tenders (RFI/RFP).
• Provide technical support to existing accounts.
• Collaborate with solution design, engineering, and delivery teams.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 4-5 years of IT/Telecoms experience.
• Pre-sales experience with the ability to discuss technical solutions confidently.
• Understanding of Public Sector procurement practices and frameworks.
• Excellent presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven technical design skills and documentation abilities.
• Knowledge of VPLS, MPLS, IP Networking, Routing Protocols, BGP, VRRP, IGRP.
• Experience with Juniper platforms (SRX and EX series).
• Experience with Cisco technology.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Designing secure Internet solutions (UTM firewalls, SIEM).
  • LAN (wired and wireless) environments.
  • Private & Public Cloud architecture.
• Hands-on technical experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Project, and Visio.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture methods (e.g., TOGAF) is a plus.
• Understanding of government networks (N3, HSCN, PSN, JANET, or similar) is advantageous.
