As a vital member of our leadership team, this role involves developing and implementing strategies to foster a positive and productive work environment. Serving as the key liaison between employees, management, and trade unions, the focus is on resolving conflicts, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and driving improvements in employee engagement and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Build a positive and inclusive workplace culture, address concerns, and enhance engagement.
- Industrial Relations: Lead negotiations with collective agreements, and ensure legal compliance.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes and guide disciplinary actions while promoting effective resolution strategies.
- Policy Development: Create and maintain HR policies, ensuring they are applied consistently and effectively.
- Training and Development: Deliver training programs on employee relations, conflict resolution, and legal compliance.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to employment laws and maintain accurate records.
- Strategic Planning: Align employee relations strategies with organisational objectives to drive performance and retention.
- Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing Employee and Industrial Relations team.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: Executive Director, HR, Payroll and OD
- Direct Reports: Head of Employee Relations, Head of Industrial Relations, Head of Reward
About You:
- Educated to degree level with CIPD qualification or membership
- At least 10 years of experience in employee/industrial relations, including 5 years in leadership
- Expertise in employment law, collective bargaining, and conflict resolution
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities
