We appreciate that everyone has diverse career aspirations and that’s what sets us apart. One of the ways in which we are responding to the dynamic nature of the legal sector is with our panel of In-House Lawyers, GCSolutions. We’ve identified secondment opportunities across a number of exceptional clients and a variety of different sectors. Our GCSolutions team are currently all working on these opportunities for short and long-term secondments and more project-led initiatives. This has been a highly successful initiative and we’re now looking to grow this team with commercial lawyers looking to progress down an exciting, alternative career path.
Unlike some other flexible lawyer resourcing business models, we give you the decision to work with us on a fixed-term employment basis or as a consultant. We offer a mix of remote and hybrid opportunities, are open to part-time or full-time lawyers and help to support your work-life balance. Of course, we can’t forget to mention, all without the pressure of fee targets and the billable hour. You’ll be an advocate for WBD and help us to further develop opportunities for growth in our business.
By working with us on a fixed-term employment basis, we’ll remove some of the risk for you by offering a series of employed contracts within our business and a salary. You’ll be fully integrated into WBD so this not only means you have access to our rewards and benefits but also our development programmes and support from our wider commercial team. If you’re looking to work with us on a consultancy or contractor basis, you’ll be on a competitive day rate, without the ties. You’ll be working with us on a non-exclusive agreement with a say in which types of high quality secondments you’d like to take on.
What are we looking for?
- At least 2 years post-qualified-experience (PQE) as a lawyer
- Those 2 years PQE to have been gained in one or more of the following sectors: Energy & Natural Resources, Public, Government and Third Sector, Manufacturing, Technology, Transport or Retail and Hospitality
- Experience doing high quality commercial work including experience in a minimum of one of the following areas: commercial contract drafting and negotiation, data privacy or procurement
- Minimum 6 months of in-house legal experience gained either as a qualified lawyer in an in-house legal team, on secondment to a client from a private practice law firm or from having trained in-house
- Experience in managing and prioritising a varied workload
- Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- Experience of working in a team as well as individually
