Vision for Education are are currently seeking a qualified SEN Teacher for work within our partner SEN school settings across East Lancashire. Areas include: Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson and Colne.

About the role

The teacher role involves teaching groups of children with additional needs such as ASD, PMLD, MLD and Social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will hold substantial subject knowledge and will be able to inspire and nurture pupils to a higher level of learning. You will also be responsible for organising the supporting staff in the classroom.

Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils with this, as well as making sure they are not displaying any triggers or any signs of unease. Adaptability, patience and an resilient attitude will be key to success in this role.

To be considered for the role of SEN Teacher you will:

  • Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years.

  • We must be able to obtain valid references from these roles.

  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.

£130 to £200 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • MPS Scale

  • Relevant experience in the past few years working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
