Audit is your thing. So is making an impact. Like us, you believe audit is more than just compliance—it’s about understanding businesses, advising clients, and helping organisations grow. You thrive in managing diverse portfolios, mentoring teams, and ensuring that high-quality audits are delivered efficiently.
Who are Goodman Jones LLP? We’re a 13-partner, top-tier firm based in Fitzrovia, London, known for our supportive, people-first culture. Unlike firms that overload their teams with excessive hours and limited exposure, we prioritise work-life balance, structured career progression, and a diverse client portfolio. We believe in giving our people real autonomy, responsibility, and variety—so instead of being boxed into repetitive audits, you’ll gain broad experience across corporate businesses, international subsidiaries, owner-managed businesses, and not-for-profits. With our recent move to a modern, open-plan Fitzrovia office, we’re investing in a collaborative, flexible working environment that supports your growth. Our hybrid working model (3 days office, 2 days home) means you get the best of both worlds—face-to-face collaboration with your team and clients, balanced with flexibility to work from home.
What you’ll get to do: As an Audit Manager at Goodman Jones LLP, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio of clients across industries, from corporate businesses and international subsidiaries to not-for-profits. You’ll be hands-on in managing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards, UK GAAP, and IFRS, while also building strong client relationships and offering strategic advice. You’ll be working alongside a small team of like-minded managers, some of whom have grown their careers with us, while others have joined from both small and larger firms. Together, you’ll share knowledge and support each other’s professional development. Beyond audit, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor and develop your team, conduct performance reviews, and contribute to internal training initiatives. You’ll also play a role in business development, helping expand our client base and identifying new advisory opportunities. We’ll empower you to lead, advise, and grow—all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
What we’re looking for: You’re likely already in an Audit Assistant Manager or Manager role, looking for that something extra. To transition seamlessly into this position, you’ll need to be:
- Experienced: You’ve managed audits across multiple industries.
- Qualified: ACA or ACCA qualified, with strong technical expertise in UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit standards.
- A Leader: You have experience managing teams, mentoring junior auditors, and leading audits from start to finish.
- Client-Focused: You’re confident in front of clients and can build long-term, trusted relationships.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented: You have a strong eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with CaseWare, CCH, Datasnipper, Float, and other audit tools.
Even Better If: You have experience working with groups and UK subsidiaries. You enjoy business development and identifying new opportunities for growth. You’re keen to deliver technical training and mentor the next generation of auditors.
The Details: Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum (full-time) Hours: 35 hours per week Location: Hybrid (3 days office-based, 2 days home) – new Fitzrovia office Application Process: Submit your CV – we respond to every applicant. Interview process: Two-stage—first with an Audit Manager, then with Partners. Full Role Description available upon request.
