Pearson is seeking an experienced and dedicated Investigations Safeguarding Lead to join our team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining safeguarding practices within our investigations processes.

About the Role
As the Investigations Safeguarding Lead, you will provide support, guidance, and expertise to the Investigations and Candidate Malpractice teams in relation to safeguarding, ensuring the wellbeing of those affected by malpractice investigations. Your role will also involve managing the safeguarding referral process and ensuring that all concerns are promptly logged and reported to the appropriate external parties for action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Investigations in ensuring policies, procedures, and templates are in place to minimize safeguarding risks.
  • Provide advice and training on best practices in malpractice investigations, particularly concerning vulnerable individuals.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Investigations team and UK qualifications business.
  • Manage the safeguarding concern referral process and ensure all concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintain and update safeguarding policies in collaboration with Pearson’s Global Trust and Online Safety Manager.
  • Conduct interviews, review investigations, and provide feedback to ensure compliance with safeguarding regulations.
  • Lead safeguarding training efforts, ensuring staff are well-informed and up to date on safeguarding standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in safeguarding, child protection, or roles involving vulnerable populations (education, healthcare, social care).
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including data privacy laws.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate risks to children and vulnerable individuals.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to develop and deliver training.
  • Experience in managing safeguarding referrals and collaborating with external agencies.
  • A Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
