At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives. The Avon Pension Fund currently has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the team as a Senior Business Analyst in the newly formed Business Change Team.
About the Avon Pension Fund
The Avon Pension Fund (APF) administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for over 140,000 members across 464 employers in the local area. Employers include local unitary councils, universities, academies, town and parish councils, housing associations and charities. The fund is worth over £5 billion and is one of the largest local authority pension funds in the UK.
About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst will be a subject matter expert within the Fund whose role is to deliver improved outcomes, savings, and value for money for members, employers and internal stakeholders by assessing APF business processes, determining business and data requirements, and delivering data-driven recommendations and reports to Fund stakeholders. The postholder will be accountable for business analysis and management information within APF and will drive with Business Change colleagues broader technical initiatives which are aligned with the Fund’s strategic objectives as set out in the Administration Strategy. Excellent knowledge of pensions, pension regulations, and pension systems is critical. Problem-solving skills and strategic thinking will also be needed whilst working independently. The postholder will need to manage and influence diverse stakeholders including: APF Managers, other B&NES departments, external suppliers, and Committee members. This role operates under the direction of the Business Change Manager.
