Are you a Director of Architecture seeking a new role? If so, InX may have the opportunity for you. InX are working alongside a high profile organisation who are seeking a Director of Architecture & Strategy who will be a pivotal leader in driving the technological evolution of the business. This role will spearhead the development and execution of a coherent architecture vision and strategic roadmap to modernize diverse systems while enabling business innovation across a number of business units. Critical to success will be your ability to craft and communicate compelling narratives that inspire and align stakeholders at all levels—from the executive team colleagues—around the transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision
    • Develop and communicate a compelling enterprise architecture vision
    • Create a multi-year technology roadmap to modernize systems while minimizing business disruption
    • Establish architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks that enable agility and innovation
    • Partner with C-suite executives (Exec) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure technology strategy supports broader business objectives
  • Architecture Transformation
    • Lead the assessment of current legacy architecture and identify priority areas for modernization
    • Drive the integration strategy for seamless connectivity between disparate business units and systems
    • Champion cloud adoption and migration strategies
  • Governance & Delivery
    • Establish architecture review and governance processes that balance speed with quality and compliance
    • Ensure new architecture decisions support strategic goals while addressing immediate business needs
    • Develop metrics to measure architecture effectiveness and progress against modernization targets
    • Oversee the creation of transition architectures for critical systems in Finance, HR, Supply Chain and IT
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Build and lead a high-performing enterprise architecture team with diverse skills and expertise
    • Collaborate with business unit leaders to understand their unique requirements and technology needs
    • Mentor team members on effective storytelling techniques to amplify the architecture narrative
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO and executive team on emerging technologies and industry trends

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential
    • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture or related roles, with at least 5 years at a senior level
    • Proven track record of leading major architecture transformations in complex, multi-divisional organizations
    • Deep understanding of both legacy systems and modern technology platforms
    • Experience modernizing core business applications in areas such as Finance, HR, and Supply Chain
    • Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities, with demonstrated success translating complex technical visions into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
    • Experience creating and delivering communications that resonate with frontline staff as well as executives
    • Track record of successful stakeholder management at executive level
