A fast-growing, award-winning brand, renowned for its high-quality, timeless products, is seeking a Head of eCommerce Trading to join their team as they expand. The company is committed to empowering customers to express their individuality with confidence and style, and the Head of eCommerce Trading will play a key role in driving the commercial success of their online store through applying both a hands-on and strategic approach.
Role Overview:
The Head of eCommerce Trading will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of the e-commerce platform, optimising the user experience, and implementing effective merchandising and promotional strategies to drive revenue growth. This individual will work closely with marketing, content, operations, and development teams to enhance the customer journey and maximise conversion rates.
Key Responsibilities in the position of Head of E-commerce Trading:
- Oversee the P&L for the e-commerce store, ensuring that revenue and margin targets are met through effective performance tracking and KPI management.
- Provide regular sales and performance forecasts and report findings to senior management.
- Analyse website performance, sales trends, and key metrics including conversion rates, AOV, traffic, to identify growth opportunities.
- Work with paid media agencies to optimise performance against budgets and ROAS targets.
- Manage the activity and merchandising of the website, ensuring product descriptions, imagery, and information are accurate.
- Optimise product categorisation and cross-selling opportunities to enhance conversion rates.
- Work with the buying and merchandising teams to plan and execute product launches and ensure new products are well-supported by marketing.
- Plan and execute seasonal promotions, sales, and marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to drive traffic through SEO, PPC, email, and social media.
- Ensure competitive pricing and accurate discount positioning.
- Manage relationships with paid media agencies to ensure sales targets are met.
- Ensure a seamless and intuitive shopping experience, optimising the website’s layout, navigation, and checkout process.
- Collaborate with UX designers to A/B test and implement changes that increase conversion rates.
- Identify and address friction points in the user journey to enhance overall site performance.
- Lead and develop a team of digital executives, managing their workload and career progression.
- Work collaboratively across teams, including tech, buying/merchandising, logistics, customer service, and creative, to ensure smooth operations.
- Act as the main point of contact for external paid media and CRM agencies.
To be considered for the position of Head of E-commerce Trading, you will offer the following:
- A minimum of 5 years in eCommerce trading
- Proficient in Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, CRM platforms, Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads.
- Strong ability to analyse data and use insights to drive performance decisions.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
