The predicted salary is between 28500 - 42000 £ per year.

Base Location: We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base ‘home’ location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland (Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness).

Salary: £33,500 – £50,300 + annual bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available.

The role

To reach net zero by 2030 we’re looking for people passionate about the energy transition who can bring new skills and innovative thinking to help us build a world that’s more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family and the community you live in for generations to come.

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for an analyst to join our Economics Team and play a key role in economic appraisal and carbon data management to support the delivery of key strategic net zero infrastructure in the north of Scotland.

You will

  1. Support the delivery of high quality socioeconomic and carbon analysis to inform project feasibility and investment decisions.
  2. Analyse data trends and produce high-quality reports and presentations that effectively communicate complex economic concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
  3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental and sustainability analysts, and policy experts to proactively pursue data collection and analysis process improvements.
  4. Support the development and maintenance of data models, producing reports and dashboards to inform senior stakeholders.
  5. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in the way in which we use and manage information and data.

You have

  1. A degree level qualification in a mathematical/economics/finance related discipline, or relevant experience.
  2. Understanding of socio-economic appraisal methodologies for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  3. Knowledge of the UK electricity networks energy sector and the challenges associated with the journey to net-zero.
  4. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex economic concepts in a clear and concise manner and a collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  5. The ability to handle and analyse large quantities of data and experience in establishing, communicating and presenting well-reasoned conclusions, proposals and recommendations based upon multiple data sources.
