This successful company manufactures high quality products for a specialist market. Well established and possessing a global customer base, they are consistently profitable and financially stable. A new position has become available in the finance department for a capable Financial Controller to work closely with the MD, with a view to managing the department and moving up into a Finance Director role in the fullness of time.
Duties
This opportunity therefore has excellent progression prospects and can offer a long term future for someone looking to settle into the role. Based in pleasant surroundings, this will be very hands-on, focusing on the following duties:
- Producing the monthly management accounts
- Producing weekly KPIs and production flash reports
- Variance analysis of actual vs budget
- Ongoing management of overheads and expenditure
- Stock valuation and reconciliations
- VAT, PAYE and HMRC matters
- Managing FX payments
- Cashflow management and banking
- Dealing with import/export paperwork
- Improving systems and processes
- Providing financial support and analysis
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with a busy MD, and if you can demonstrate your capability, you can expect to be delegated a variety of interesting project and ad hoc work. The ideal candidate would have good Excel skills, an eye for systems improvement and modernization, coupled with a strong commercial acumen and a drive to deliver first-class accounting support to the rest of the business.
Suitable applicants would preferably be fully qualified, but a strong QBE accountant would also be considered. The role would appeal to an experienced management accountant looking to step up or a Finance Manager/Financial Controller seeking a new challenge. Some flexibility around start/finish times can be available along with scope for occasional home working once settled in.
