Support Worker – Pontypridd
Your new company:
We are looking to recruit passionate and motivated mental health support workers to provide person-centred support to our residents living in our temporary accommodation scheme. We support a wide range of people, including those with their mental health due to various external factors. This could be anything from substance misuse, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and other factors. We believe that everyone in society should have a chance to succeed, with a safe and secure place to live and thrive in a positive environment.
Your new role:
You will be working closely with the residents to manage their needs. You will help residents to identify goals and provide the support they need to reach them. This will involve liaising with other agencies in order to provide the best standard of care for the individual. In addition, you will be supporting the residents to organise their finances and promote their independence. You will be completing activities to promote and build self-esteem. Typical shifts will be 12-hour days and/or nights.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Experience in supporting individuals within the mental health field, dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, helping people with housing and their benefits would be beneficial and desirable of is not mandatory. It is important that you can use a caring approach to build trust and strong relationships. It is also essential that you have strong time-management and organisational skills to stay on top of your workload and work collaboratively with others. You will need to have a full UK driving licence and have your own car.
