Position Overview

Core by Clare Smyth, a prestigious 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef de Rang to join our team. You will play a pivotal role within the Front of House Team providing seamless and professional service to all guests. The ideal candidate will have a welcoming and engaging personality coupled with strong experience within the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • To effectively conduct a range of tasks contributing to the day to day running of the restaurant, working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant and the delivery of the highest levels of service by the front of house team.
  • Providing effective communication between back of house and front of house to ensure service runs smoothly throughout the day.
  • Ensure the highest levels of service are consistently provided to all customers and guests.
  • Build guest loyalty and be familiar with regulars/VIP guests, providing individual, engaging service at all times.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external individuals and groups.
  • Be able to adapt style when dealing with all kinds of people in a wide range of situations.
  • Be able to make decisions quickly; sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Ensure continued awareness and understanding of the industry and local markets.
  • To carry out any other reasonable request by the Restaurant Manager.
  • To ensure the restaurant is presentable and always kept immaculate.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Rang within a fine dining restaurant or a luxury five-star establishment.
  • Experience in a Michelin star restaurant is desirable.
  • A catering school background is highly preferable.
  • Good wine knowledge (Wines of the world).
  • Excellent command of the English Language both written and verbal.
  • Well-groomed appearance.
  • Proven track record of longevity within roles.
