What to expect
As a Legal Counsel, you will undertake a valuable role responsible for supporting Post Office on a broad range of commercial dispute matters. Reporting to the Head of Legal – Dispute Resolution & Brand Protection, you will manage legal risk relevant to the Post Office’s business, including management of county court claims, review of key policies, providing legal advice on disputes, and assisting with training to prevent future disputes.
The role requires identifying and solving strategic and operational legal issues, providing succinct, accurate, and timely advice on complex issues. You will work proactively with stakeholders to ensure legal input on all relevant projects.
Additionally, you will support the broader Legal team to achieve strategic objectives, working closely with your line manager and colleagues across the Legal function.

What you’ll need to succeed
- 2-6 years post-qualification experience in civil litigation and dispute resolution, preferably at a leading private practice law firm or as an in-house lawyer.
- Continuing compliance with SRA/Bar Council Code of Conduct, and eligibility to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales.
