Are you a Mechanical Project Engineer with a passion for automation and parcel logistics systems? This is your chance to join a forward-thinking engineering team supporting high-profile UK projects and international bids.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated engineer to bring local expertise to major parcel handling installations, working closely with customers, project teams, and site personnel. You will be an integral part of delivering innovative mechanical layouts and solutions for automated systems in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support parcel handling projects from concept through to site installation – including current and upcoming projects across the UK.
  • Liaise closely with customers and attend sites regularly (on-site presence is essential).
  • Develop and deliver engineered system designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and CDM regulations.
  • Create mechanical layouts and documentation using AutoCAD 2D/3D, with exposure to Navisworks, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Integrate building interfaces, services, and structural elements such as steelwork and mezzanines.
  • Perform risk assessments and manage uncertainties through proactive design and planning.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and third-party equipment suppliers.
  • Present design options to teams, clients, and consultants confidently.
  • Ensure all mechanical system designs are manufacturable within budget constraints.
  • Support continuous process improvement and knowledge development across the team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years' experience in automated material handling systems (e.g., parcels, baggage, warehousing, conveyors).
  • Strong AutoCAD skills (2D/3D); familiarity with Navisworks, Revit, and BIM is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of Machinery Safety Standards and CDM regulations.
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team (Electrical/Mechanical/Software/Safety).
  • Willing to travel within the UK (and occasionally abroad) as needed.
  • A proactive, structured individual with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

This role is ideal for someone looking to take ownership of key projects and grow their impact in the automated logistics space. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Applying candidates must have 5 years checkable work history.
