Job Title: Group Financial Controller (Maternity Cover – 12 Month Contract)

Location: Hybrid working – minimum 3 days in the office.

Reports To: Group Finance Director

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Group Financial Controller to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with specific experience in implementing or working within Microsoft D365. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent process design and change management skills, who has worked within a large multisite organization, preferably in the retail or hospitality sector.

The role:

  1. Oversee the financial operations of the group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  2. Further develop the use of our ERP Microsoft D365, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the organization.
  3. Design and implement efficient financial processes and controls to enhance operational efficiency.
  4. Review management accounts processes and support the team in providing insightful analysis and reporting to senior management.
  5. Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  6. Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and other relevant financial legislation.
  7. Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  8. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Proven experience in a similar financial controller role within a large multisite organization, preferably in retail or hospitality.
  2. Experience with Microsoft D365, including implementation and management.
  3. Strong background in process design and change management.
  4. Solid experience in preparing and reviewing management accounts.
  5. Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  6. Team player with a passion for developing and mentoring team members.
  7. VAT experience is desirable.
  8. Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance.

  2. Professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualified experience.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
