Trainee Positive Behaviour Mentors Required! We are looking for passionate individuals who want to begin working and training as Behaviour Mentors to support our local Schools in Brighton & Hove by helping children and young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs) and some Complex Needs (Hearing impairments, Autism, Speech and language delay, ADHD). Applications for the position are welcome from candidates of ranging experience, and training will be provided, although previous experience working with students with SEMH, particularly challenging behaviours and Trauma & Attachment will be helpful. A strong sense of behaviour management will also be key!

Anyone from a youth support, support worker or care worker background, or personal SEND experience is strongly encouraged to apply! Training will be provided to all applicants so the ideal candidate just needs to be passionate, eager to learn and be very resilient. If this sounds like you please apply! Your Role

  • Supporting a range of vulnerable children ranging from Reception to KS4
  • Be able to appropriately calm children down and de-escalate
  • Be able to effectively behaviour manage
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Be available - Full time - 8.15am - 3.30pm

  • You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
