Tradewind Recruitment Birmingham are seeking a skilled and dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the team in one of our primary schools based in Kings Heath, Birmingham. As an EYFS Specialist TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning, development, and care of young children in our early years setting. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with early years practitioners to plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children in line with the EYFS framework. Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities, adapting activities and resources to accommodate their requirements. Observe and assess children’s progress and development, using tools and techniques specified by the EYFS framework, and provide feedback to support ongoing assessment and planning for children’s learning. Build positive relationships with parents or caregivers, involving them in their child’s learning journey, providing feedback on their child’s progress, and offering advice and support. Ensure health and safety requirements are met, including risk assessments, supervision of children, and promoting good hygiene practices. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills related to the EYFS framework, child development, safeguarding, and first aid. Requirements: Relevant qualifications and/or experience in early years education, such as a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent. Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework, including the principles, goals, and standards. Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities in an early years setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to support children’s learning and development. Proactive, adaptable, and flexible approach to work, with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with young children.
