Marine & Helicopter Coordinator – 7 Month Contract – 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
Marine & Helicopter Coordination is a critical support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department, ensuring safe offshore operations, transit, asset access, and emergency response during the construction phase of offshore energy projects.
Role Overview:
The position involves both day and night shifts, including weekend work. There is flexibility for additional ad-hoc shifts during the main contract period as well as before and after the primary project timeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency Response Coordination: Act as the primary contact for coordinating emergency responses and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Traffic Control: Manage vessel and helicopter traffic in accordance with established coordination protocols, procedures, and processes.
- Tracking: Monitor and maintain accurate tracking of personnel, vessels, and communications.
- Access Management: Oversee access restrictions to work areas and ensure compliance.
- Operational Efficiency: Allocate vessel resources and manage schedule changes to optimize asset use.
- Offshore Management System Operation: Ensure all offshore personnel have the correct certification, and maintain accurate status updates for all assets.
- Weather Observation & Forecasting: Provide weather forecasts, interpret data, and offer operational recommendations to project and vessel teams.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate and collaborate with relevant local and external stakeholders as required.
- Service Provider Management: Manage relationships with weather and observation system providers, ensuring data and service issues are resolved promptly.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in marine coordination or a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using offshore operations databases
- Competence with radio communications
- Familiarity with maritime certification requirements
- Strong computer literacy
- Emergency Response: Proven experience handling emergency situations offshore.
- Operational Expertise:
- Personnel tracking to ensure continuous awareness of offshore personnel locations
- Marine traffic control and airspace coordination for safe operations
- Monitoring weather and marine operations
- Surveillance and vessel avoidance strategies
- Communication: Ability to liaise and provide advisory support on documentation, HSE, marine inspections, and helicopter operations.
- Reporting: Handle statutory reporting, including pollution incidents, lighting, drifting buoys, and vessel infringements.
