We are looking to recruit a Bridging Underwriter for a rapidly growing specialist lending firm. You will be responsible for assessing and underwriting bridging applications from brokers, direct applicants and intermediaries in line with lending policy and risk appetite.
Your duties will include:
- Managing your own pipeline of cases from loan application to completion;
- Assess and resolve risk-related issues with applications;
- Assess full case documentation including credit reports and KYC documentation to ensure AML policy and lending policy are adhered to;
- Review valuation reports and make an assessment as to suitability of the security property for short-term lending along with a full assessment of LTV with a rationale for the same;
- Approve and reject applications in line with policy, referring to Compliance and/or Senior Leadership where appropriate;
- Produce a high quality and articulate loan synopsis for each case, presenting a clear rationale for proceeding with the loan;
- Communicate with all relevant parties throughout the loan application, building professional relationships with them.
