Focused on sustainability with our extensive range of recyclable and compostable products, we design and manufacture innovative food packaging solutions here in the UK, exporting to over 60 countries worldwide.
As our Product Designer, you will join our busy and lively studio team to create and design cartonboard packaging solutions for international food service and retail markets. You will be part of a multi-skilled design department, working alongside Graphic Designers and Marketeers.
Your role involves designing and developing innovative and unique packaging solutions – conception through to manufacture – to reflect emerging food and eating trends globally from:
- briefs originating from clients and colleagues alike;
- ad hoc new product development work;
- self-generated creative projects.
You\’ll:
- generate concepts using Artios CAD, making revisions, additions, and improvements to archived designs and continually improving on existing products in the category review plan;
- create technical dimensional drawings;
- produce layouts for estimating and die making;
- make samples and prototypes from a wide range of boards;
- collaborate with the procurement and manufacturing teams on site to create efficiencies and ensure designs can be manufactured and they are the best they can be;
- work with the procurement team to identify new materials and components.
What you need to bring with you:
- Excellent 3D design skills, preferably with Artios CAD experience or equivalent software – training can be provided.
- Proven recent and relevant experience in product design for cartonboard construction which demonstrates high levels of creativity in delivering innovative packaging solutions.
- Self-starter approach with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and technical skills.
- Excellent communications skills – verbally, interpersonally and in writing – across a range of mediums such as email, group calls, etc.
- Experience within a food packaging environment would be advantageous
