HR Assistant β Contract (City of London)We are looking for an experienced HR Assistant to join a leading insurance firm on a contract basis while a permanent hire is made. The role is based in the City, with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home. This is an urgent requirement, with an immediate start available.The Role:The HR Assistant will provide support across the full employee lifecycle with a strong focus on HR administration and payroll. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in contracts, offer letters, and payroll processing, while supporting wider HR projects.Key Responsibilities:Process UK payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with internal processesDraft, issue, and error-check contracts, offer letters, and other HR documentationMaintain HR records and employee data with accuracy and confidentialitySupport the HR team with projects, including policy reviews, system updates, and employee engagement initiativesRespond to HR queries from employees and managers in a timely and professional mannerWork closely with finance and external payroll providers to resolve any payroll issuesAssist with onboarding new employees and coordinating induction processesSkills & Experience:Around 2 yearsβ experience in an HR Assistant or similar HR administration roleStrong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in payroll and contractsAbility to work quickly, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressureGood knowledge of UK employment processes and payroll practicesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalConfident user of MS Office; experience with HRIS or payroll systems beneficialProactive, organised, and adaptable with a collaborative mindsetContract Details:Contract role while a permanent hire is madeBased in the City, with hybrid working (4 days in office, 1 day from home)Immediate start / 1 week notice period Hourly rate equivalent to Β£30,000 β Β£35,000 annual salaryInsurance sector experience is desirable but not essential
