Abbey Design Associates (ADA), established in 2006, supports end-users and contractors with the design and delivery of commercial and industrial refrigeration projects. Acquired by Lowe in 2021, we offer global technical support and are dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient solutions.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of refrigeration projects across the North of England and Scotland. The role involves managing the entire project life cycle, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.

The position requires that the candidate has a full clean driving license and access to a motor vehicle that can be used on ADA company business on a regular or even daily basis.

Overnight stays while visiting sites may be required occasionally.

Whilst predominantly remote working, visits to head office will be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Coordination and Execution: Oversee all project phases, from initial concept through commissioning and handover. Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and industry codes.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth progress.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead project teams, ensuring clear task assignments and accountability.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular reports on project status.

Candidate Requirements:

Education:

  • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally from a refrigeration background (however this is not essential).

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of refrigeration systems (commercial and industrial).
  • Experience with COâ‚‚ systems is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good team-working ethos
