I am currently looking for a Design Engineer with an interest in a strong career path and seeking a challenging, stimulating, and varied role taking entire responsibility for the design of specialist machinery on a permanent basis. The company supplies globally, specializing in the design and manufacture of bespoke equipment and machinery into multiple sectors.
The company is a medium outfit consisting of circa 500 people across the UK, with a very strong order book until next year. They have recently added several new products to their existing product line and are now looking for a Design Engineer to join a small team spread across the UK, with this role being based close to Eastleigh, Southampton.
Essential Requirements / Experience:
- The successful candidates will have solid core design skills with proven experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role (2 years minimum).
- Must be experienced in a 3D CAD Package.
- This person will have a mechanical engineering background and therefore be familiar with designing and manufacturing disciplines.
- Experience with FEA is ideal but not essential.
- Exposure to casting, machining, fabrication, and sheet metal is also ideal but not essential.
Salary Package:
- Competitive Annual Salary – £38,000 – £46,000 per annum starting salary.

The Role:
- Design and development of new project designs for external clients from conception through to successful completion using Inventor (Any CAD Package experience is deemed suitable).
- Creating Bills of Material (BOM’s), carrying out calculations, and completing all engineering work to meet order requirements.
- Being accountable for ensuring the design and implementation of client projects for specialized processing and management of designs from the initial concept through to manufacturing.
