Shifts: Monday to Friday, Starting between 21:30 and 12:30
Pay Rate: £18.50 per hour
We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a well-established automotive logistics provider based in Tamworth. This is a Monday to Friday night role with no weekend work, offering consistent routes and a stable working schedule.
Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from drayage, global freight forwarding & full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nationwide delivery of automotive parts including cages, pallets with engines or gearboxes (offloaded via pump truck) and light boxed items (e.g., paper bumpers)
- Vehicles are pre-loaded at the depot, but drivers must offload at delivery points
- Deliver between 2 to 15 drops per night depending on the route
- Routes may include destinations such as Scunthorpe, Manchester, Bolton, Exeter, Southampton, Berkley, and locations in between
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum 6 penalty points - no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements
- Safety boots and hi-vis must be always worn
- Physically fit and able to unload using a pump truck or manual handling for smaller items
Assessment Process:
- All candidates must attend a site-based assessment which includes:
- Highway Code theory test
- Reversing onto a bay and general yard manoeuvres
- 45-minute driving assessment
If successful, you'll complete induction and onboarding paperwork on the same day.
