We are recruiting for a male Support Worker to join our weekend teamin Muscliff working25 hours per week.

You would need to hold a Full UK driving licence to be considered for this role, however access to your own vehicle is not essential.

The role

You would be supporting Luke, who is in his late twenties and lives in his own property in Muscliff. He communicates through various aids such as PECS cards, body language, hand signs and gestures.

  • Days out to Swanage, taking the chain ferry across, where he likes to enjoy a ride on the steam train.
  • Spending time with family at the weekend.
  • Listening to a variety of music or watching a Disney film.
  • Bouncing sometimes for hours in the garden on his trampoline.

This role would suit someone who is calm, patient and eager to help enable Luke to be as independent as possible and to look at new ways of interacting in the community.

Hours of work

You would work a mixture of shifts between: 7am – 4pm or 3pm – 10pm

A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:

  • Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
  • Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
  • Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
  • Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
  • A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development
  • 12-week induction programme consisting of in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
  • The opportunity to complete an accredited qualification once you’ve passed your probation period.
