Introduction

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Officer/Administrator to join our People Team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.

As an integral part of our People Team, the successful candidate will support HR operations, ensure compliance with UK employment laws and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Our current headcount across the UK is 435 with 60% working in operational roles including mixing and making products, quality control, filling, packaging and exporting our products to our customers.

About the role and the People Team

We pride ourselves on being an engaging, approachable, and supportive People Team.

As a People Team, our on-site presence is essential to provide effective support to all colleagues. This position is required to be on site at least 4 days out of 5, with Tuesday being our full Team on site day. Whilst we prioritise business support, we also value collaboration, teamwork and protected time for us, as a People Team.

Salary & Hours

This role is ideally full-time (38 hours per week), but we recognise the importance of work-life balance and are open to considering part-time arrangements.

Salary is £27,000 (FTE)

Key responsibilities for the role are:

  • First point of contact for general ‘people related’ queries from our colleagues. Triage HR-related queries, escalating cases to the relevant HRBP or referring colleagues to appropriate People Policies as needed.
  • Administering our central inboxes and updating relevant trackers, this includes supporting payroll to log and action any queries as required.
  • Maintaining and updating personnel records in line with GDPR and relevant employment legislation, including Right to Work checks, reference checking etc.
  • Coordination of Health Surveillance checks annually and for new starters.Supporting the HRBP with ongoing occupational health management as required.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment processes when required, to include onboarding. Supporting the first day induction and general onboarding processes ensuring a positive experience for new colleagues.
  • Administration of our HRIS (Workday) and time management system (Mitre Finch) which will include providing required reports to support our communication of data to the business and ensuring business decisions are supported with data.
  • Promote a positive work place culture by supporting with employee engagement activities, including our onsite communications to the business ensuring they are accessible for all.
  • General administration activities as required which will include, confirmation of events and letters confirming events within the employee lifecycle (templates are available and provided) and attending meetings as required to take notes.
  • Support our ethical audits when required.

Candidate Profile

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet set deadlines
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Ideally CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards it), though not essential. Full support and training will be provided.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in HR or a related role
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Comfortable working with in-house systems, ideally HR; training will be provided, but prior experience in data entry and extraction is essential.
  • Ability to create, build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Be able to show empathy and understanding on sensitive matters
  • Take initiative in anticipating needs, be a problem solver
