Job Description
Are you passionate about enhancing young people’s careers? The School of Care and Science are looking for a full-time lecturer who will inspire our learners to achieve their full potential during their time at West Herts College.
The right candidate will plan, deliver, and assess courses at levels 1, 2 & 3 Childcare and Care courses. It is desirable for candidates to have a working knowledge and experience with T-level education and early years courses.
The candidate will be responsible for delivering skills and knowledge to high standards. This will be achieved by preparing resources, delivering lessons, marking student work, and supporting students with their whole programme of study. We are seeking an industry specialist to teach and embed essential workforce skills. Therefore, is desirable to have practical working experience within the early years sector.
Learners will complete invaluable work experience placements as part of their study programme, which will launch them into a career in the Early Years Sector with skills and experiences that align with their chosen career path.
This opportunity exists for an individual who wants to work in a stimulating and challenging environment, to inspire our students to achieve their best. The successful candidate will need to have the essential skills and working knowledge required in Early years and education. They will ideally have experience working with young people or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting, however, an inspirational and motivational approach is essential to educate and inspire learners.
Applicants should have a minimum of Level 3 in Early Years or an equivalent course, and relevant vocational experience. A teaching qualification would be advantageous; however, we would offer full teacher training to the successful candidate.
The successful applicant will become part of a highly motivated team who are dedicated to raising standards and improving outcomes for all learners. This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week.
