Manual Machinist / Horizontal Borer

My client in the Tinsley area of Sheffield are looking for experienced Manual Machinists / Horizontal Borers. The client is one of the UKs leading manufacturer of high integrity copper castings servicing the blast furnace iron and steel producing market. Our components require a degree of machining on Vertical and Horizontal Borers and Milling machines. Our requirement is for one machinist to machine our products on our new CNC Webster Bennet 72" Vertical Borer. The individual will join two others in a team conducting the same operations within the machine shop. Understanding, appreciation and care for Health Safety & Environmental matters are essential. The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, attention to detail and care for quality of workmanship is also essential in this role as is experience of operating Vertical Borers and working to high standards of dimensional accuracy. The ability to program the CNC and optimise the efficiency of the machine is desirable, Fagor Control, for the right applicant who has the aptitude to learn to program, training for this part can be provided. Ideally with a minimum of three years experience of the above. The company operates a standard x 4 day working shift (4 on / 4 off) IND123
