Herdsperson, Mappowder, Dorset

We have a contract vacancy for an enthusiastic experienced herdsperson to work on a 300-cow herd of organic cows in North Dorset.
The farm is part of a mixed farming enterprise that is family managed and operated, running 4 organic dairy herds on Arla contracts. This herd is milked in a 20-40 Fullwood parlour with ACR’s, with all relatively new handling facilities and updated housing.
The herd is summer/autumn calving with some grazing to go alongside a conventional TMR feeding system. Cubicle housing is utilised with sawdust beds over mattresses.
The appointed person who will have a can-do attitude with cows, is expected to be a team player easy going and capable of working with an assistant.
A new 3 bed semi-detached house in a local village is available, alongside a competitive salary.
