Anti-Gang Youth Worker – Secondary School Placement

Location: ChertseySalary: Competitive, excellent rates of pay!Contract Type: Flexible, Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Anti-Gang Youth Worker to work within a secondary school environment, helping to support and guide students away from gang-related influences and towards positive futures.

The Role:

As an Anti-Gang Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in mentoring and safeguarding at-risk young people. You will work closely with school staff, parents, and external agencies to provide guidance, support, and intervention strategies that promote positive choices. This is an opportunity to become an inspiring role model, helping students develop resilience and confidence while ensuring they feel safe and supported in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with students, offering guidance and mentorship.

  • Deliver interventions and workshops focused on gang prevention, violence reduction, and positive decision-making.

  • Work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies to create tailored support plans.

  • Monitor and report students’ progress, addressing concerns and identifying risk factors.

  • Promote a safe and inclusive school environment by encouraging positive behaviour and conflict resolution.

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

  • Raise awareness about the dangers of gang involvement and criminal exploitation.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people in a mentoring, safeguarding, or youth work capacity.

  • Understanding of gang-related issues and the challenges faced by vulnerable young people.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and external partners.

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and provide appropriate interventions.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

  • A passion for making a difference in young people’s lives.
