Domestic Electrician – prison accommodation Pay Rate: Negotiable Hours: 1 in 3 shift pattern required Weekdays: 08:00-17:00 Weekends: 08:00-16:00Main Responsibilities: Install, maintain, service, and repair electrical installations, circuits, and wiring systems in domestic prison properties. Undertake all electrical works associated with domestic prison properties.Key Duties: Test and inspect electrical installations in prison properties in accordance with the 17th IEE Wiring Regulations as amended from time to time (“the Regulations”). Maintain and repair electrical installations in accordance with the Regulations. Replace circuits and consumer units, including full rewiring of properties. Comply with Company Health and Safety Policy, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and other statutory legislation. Strict adherence to Company Health and Safety and operational policies. Compliance with instructions and directives from line management and the Central Coordination Team. Deliver electrical repairs and testing in both occupied and void properties. Undertake out-of-hours callout duties as per rota requirements.Qualifications: City & Guilds (C&G) 2391 Inspection and Test or the equivalent C&G 2394 & 5 C&G 2382 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations C&G Installation Certificate 2360 / 2351 or equivalent with Part 2 or NVQ C&G 2393 Desirable Part P Qualification Asbestos Awareness Training C&G 2377 PAT Testing Course Current full UK driving licenceSkills: Interpersonal skills Time management Basic computer literacy Knowledge and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements, and risk assessmentsExperience: Required technical skills Ideally two years’ work-related experienceTime-served apprenticeship Please note that no terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate on the grounds of a person’s gender, marital status, race, religion, colour, age, disability or sexual orientation.
