Business Developer

Job Title: Business Developer Location: West Midlands or Essex Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 (D.O.E) The Role: The Business Developer will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers, building new customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and preparing proposals for potential customer projects. Your Responsibilities: * Maintain and develop relationships within the existing customer base, as well as establishing relationships with new customers beyond the current base. * Identify new business opportunities for our client, including entering new industries. * Develop and provide quotations for customer projects. * Key Account Management: Responsible for developing extended relationships within key accounts and ensuring successful project delivery. Your Profile: Essential: * Degree-level technical education. * Previous experience in engineering projects within the automotive industry, including electrification or related decarbonisation topics. * Strong customer focus and ability to resolve customer concerns to mutual satisfaction. * Ability to independently scope and calculate project requirements with input from technical teams and senior management. * Skilled in preparing project proposals, presenting them to customers, and conducting follow-up negotiations. * Awareness of future challenges faced by customers and the ability to identify how our client can support in addressing these challenges. * Strong planning, prioritising, and coordinating skills, with minimal guidance. * Willingness to travel and a flexible, adaptable nature. * Excellent communication skills, both with customers and colleagues. * Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written English. Preferable: * Previous experience with engineering projects outside of the automotive industry. * Experience in working in a consultancy environment with multiple customers. * Familiarity with our client’s market presence both locally and globally. * Experience with sales tools and software, such as Salesforce. * Foreign language skills to assist with internal/external networking
